VNU FOUNDATION RECEIVES 5 BILLION VND CHARTER CAPITAL TO ESTABLISH VNUHN-HOLDINGS

On June 15, 2023, the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNUHN) organized its annual Scientific, Technological, and Innovative Conference for the year 2023. During the conference, former student and entrepreneur Do Quang Hien provided a sponsorship of 5 billion Vietnamese dong to establish VNUHN-Holdings, a joint-stock investment and development company.

Mr. Do Quang Hien, a former student of the Physics Department (Class of 1992) at the University of General Sciences, Hanoi (the precursor of VNUHN), founder of T&T Group, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saigon - Hanoi Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SHB), and Chairman of the VNUHN Alumni Entrepreneurs Club, signed an agreement with the VNU Foundation to sponsor and contribute a charter capital of 5 billion Vietnamese dong to VNUHN-Holdings.
Due to work commitments, Mr. Do Quang Hien could not attend the ceremony, and Mr. Mai Xuan Son, CEO of T&T Group, presented the sponsorship plaque of 5 billion Vietnamese dong to Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Tu, Director of the VNU Foundation
VNUHN-Holdings is a joint-stock company established and managed by VNUHN (through the VNU Foundation and other member units and affiliated entities). The company's purpose is to mobilize resources from domestic and international organizations and individuals to invest in the establishment of subsidiary companies in specific fields. Therefore, receiving the initial 5 billion Vietnamese dong as charter capital for VNUHN-Holdings is an important foundation for the implementation and operation of this basic model, laying the groundwork for further important development steps for the company and VNUHN as a whole.
The relationship between VNUHN-Holdings and functional departments and member units, directly under VNU:

Previously, from 2021 to 2023, T&T Group had sponsored 5 billion Vietnamese dong to the VNUHN Young Talent Incubation Fund, contributing to the incubation of outstanding research fellows and post-doctoral interns; provided a sponsorship of 399 million Vietnamese dong for the VNUHN Investment Promotion Conference in 2022; donated 24 water purifiers to VNUHN students studying at the VNU Military and Security Training Centre; and personally sponsored 5 billion Vietnamese dong for the activities of the VNUHN Alumni Entrepreneurs Club, making significant contributions to the development of VNUHN.

The annual Scientific, Technological, and Innovative Conference for the year 2023 aims to implement strategies, plans, and focuses on breakthrough policies such as investing in key laboratories/research centers, strong research groups; supporting international publications; supporting young research staff; attracting excellent scientists to work at VNUHN; supporting bilateral and multilateral cooperation for major international projects and joint investment partners; supporting the development of spin-off enterprises; awarding and honoring outstanding scientists; promoting partnerships with businesses/developing an innovative ecosystem in the field of research and technology transfer.
