YOUNG TALENT INCUBATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR 10 VNU’S PHD STUDENTS AND POST-DOCTORAL TRAINEES WITH EXCELLENT RESEARCH ABILITY AWARDED

On the morning of June 1, 2023, VNU Foundation held a ceremony to receive grants from Vietnam Lottery Company (Vietlott) and awarded scholarships to 10 individuals, including 02 PhD students and 08 post-doctoral trainees with excellent research capacity in 2022 (phase 2).

 

10 VNU’S PhD students and post-doctoral trainees awarded this second round of scholarships are really excellent nuclei, with many scientific works published in the world's leading scientific journals in the TOP 5% of the SCIE item (ISI). These studies have high practical application and if commercialized, they will make important contributions in solving ongoing practical problems, contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the country.

The value of the scholarship each year for PhD students is 100 million VND/scholarship and 120 million VND/scholarships for post-doctoral trainees.

Speaking at the scholarship award ceremony, VNU Vice President Nguyen Hoang Hai emphasized: with the mission of discovering, fostering and training talents for the country, especially incubating young scientific and technological talents to become excellent lecturers and scientists in the future, VNU has built and developed the "Young Talent Incubation Scholarship Fund" to support PhD students and trainees to have the opportunity to pursue research and carrying out scientific research and international integration projects, contributing to the development of education, training, science and technology of the country.

 

VNU commands and congratulates PhD students and post-doctoral trainees who have been approved by the Selection Council of VNU and the Management Council of VNU Foundation to award scholarships. Although the value is not great, this is the recognition of VNU for the research results they have achieved in the first year and hope that they will continue to strive, nurture the desire to contribute, improve the quality of their products, improve scientific research capacity and skills to continue walking on a difficult and arduous scientific path, but bring glory to our country and people of Vietnam.

VNU hopes that the granting of grants and scholarships today is just the opening event, the first bricks laying the foundation for the cooperation between VNU and Vietlott. The cooperation between VNU and Vietlott in the fields of training and human resource development; scientific research, technology application and knowledge transfer, social security and for the community will definitely bring positive values ​​to both VNU and Vietlott as well as contribute to socio-economic development.



Deputy General Director of Vietlott, Mr. Pham Cong Huy expressed his pleasure to accompany VNU's young talents incubation scholarship. He said, Vietlott will always accompany VNU Foundation to partially support graduate students and interns with more financial costs to complete their research well to soon become highly qualified human resources for development of the country.

Trainee Le Van Giang, Course I at the VNU Central Institute for Natural Resources and Environmental Studies, said that investment in education and training, science and technology is an investment that is evaluated by the world as a smart investment for the long-term future, sustainable development of the country. In particular, Nurturing young talents is to build a foundation to create the future of leading scientists, good managers, exemplary pedagogues, and talents for Vietnam in the future.

With this funding, VNU has more resources to support excellent VNU’s doctoral students and post-doctoral trainees. This is a very meaningful gift, showing the interest of businesses, corporations, and especially Vietnam Lottery Company for the development of education and training, science and technology, contributing to the construction and socio-economic development of Vietnam.
