At the end of July 2022, VNU Foundation established a committee to review the IMG Lighting up young talents Award for Ngo Quy Dang, a 12th-grade student at High School for Gifted Students, University of Science, VNU. He has excellently won 2 gold medals and got a perfect score at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 2022, led by the Foundation Director Tran Thi Thanh Tu as the head of the committee.
The IMG Scholarship for Education is awarded by IMG Investment Joint Stock Company to VNU. This scholarship is considered and awarded to Vietnamese lecturers and students working and studying at VNU in the following fields: Humanities and Education, Natural Sciences and Technology, Economics, Management and Sustainable Development, Medicine and Pharmacy, and Art and Innovation.
Through the process of studying and training, Quy Dang has had many proud achievements both domestically and internationally, such as winning the gold medal in the Singapore & Asia Schools Math Competition (SASMO) 2017 and being the Champion of the International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest IKMC in 2017 and 2018 and Mathematical Young Talent Search MYTS in 2018, winning his first gold medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad 2020 when he was in 10th grade,... . And most recently, Quy Dang won his second gold medal at the 2022 International Mathematical Olympiad, with a perfect score of 42/42.
With those outstanding achievements, on August 3rd, in Hoa Lac, IMG President Le Tu Minh awarded the scholarship of IMG Award Lighting up young talents to Ngo Quy Dang, a freshman studying Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Science. The IMG award is worth 150 million VND.
At the ceremony, Quy Dang shared that he was delighted and excited to receive the award from Dr Le Tu Minh as well as the IMG scholarship fund, which will serve as a certification for his efforts in studying and motivation for his self-development.
In addition, Ngo Quy Dang is the first person to receive a basic science scholarship for students with excellent achievements awarded by VNU President Le Quan.
